January 10, 2020 Alamo Springs Loops


Medium Hike - Jerry is the leader. Hiked Wild Burro to Alamo Springs Spur Trail. Follow Alamo Springs Spur trail to Alamo Springs Trail. Lunch at Alamo Springs. Return down Wild Burro Trail.

The Long Hike - Alamo Springs trail to Alamo Springs, back on Wild Burro - 7.8 miles - B+. This trail goes up to higher elevations and winds up to a beautiful landscape. The vegetation is indicative of the high desert.
The Medium Hike - Wild Burro to Alamo Springs Spur Trail to Alamo Springs and back down Wild Burro. This trail goes up to Alamo Springs, a picturesque landscape with substantial elevation gain.
All Trails - to Alamo Springs - 6.7miles - C+ We will not be taking Lower Javelina as this track suggests.

The hikes start at Wild Burro Trailhead - there are washroom facilities available

Directions to Wild Burro Trailhead: Go southeast on I-10 to exit 240, Tangerine Road. Turn left and follow Tangerine Road for about 5 miles. Turn Left on Dove Mountain Blvd at a set of lights. Follow this road for 4.6 miles until you come to a roundabout. Take the first right off the roundabout and continue a short way to the guardhouse. After checking with the gate guard, proceed up the road for 0.8 miles to the third right-hand turn and go right at the sign for the trailhead. Park in the dirt log. It is 54 miles and took 58 minutes.
