Key Points for Hikers

The Palm Creek Hiking Group hikes every Friday. There is a long hike where we drive to the mountains within a 70-mile radius of Casa Grande and a short hike that hikes the trails at Casa Grande Mountain. Hiking season is the first week of November until mid-March.

Because all Arizona Trails are rocky and have cactus, make sure you have proper hiking shoes with good grips. The hikes are long and sometimes hot so it is imperative that you have plenty of water, snacks and lunch. Bring any first aid equipment that you may require on the hike. Break-in new boots. Make sure the leader knows of any health limitations or medical alert bracelet information.

Arrive at the parking lot by the main mailboxes in time to sign in, arrange transportation and join the membership ($10.00 for the season) including the signing of a waiver. The group leaves at 8:00 am sharp. You will be added to an email list so you can receive weekly hike descriptions and driving instructions, sent out early in the week. You can also check this blog for the next hike.

The hiking club needs vehicles and drivers. If you are a passenger please pay the driver $10.00 for the ride. Please review the directions prior to the hike.

Sign up for the appropriate hike. If you have not hiked with the group please sign up for a hike you are sure you are able to do.
