Membership and Waiver

Welcome Hikers

We are very happy to have new members join the Palm Creek hiking club. The club meets at the mailboxes at about 7:30 in order to sign up, create carpools and leave the park by 8:00am to the hike of choice.

Please provide your name, site number and email address to Connie at your first hike. There will be a waiver to sign, which is the same as the one posted here.

Please pay the $10.00 membership fee that is used for our SPOT Emergency device that alerts Emergency Search and Rescue.

Waiver  

I am aware that hiking Arizona Mountains, which involve rocky trails, stream crossings, cactus, and bushes; as well as high temperatures, unpredictable weather conditions, insects and creatures of the desert can be a hazardous activity. I am voluntarily participating with a group of hikers with a designated leader. I hereby agree to accept, and I voluntarily assume any and all risk of injury, death, loss or damage to property. The Palm Creek Hiking club leader carries a SPOT device for emergency Search and Rescue. I will accept the judgement of hike leaders and decision-makers if they deem it is appropriate and necessary to call rescue services.

I have read the necessary requirements to hike in the mountains with his club seen on key points for hikers on this blog Key Points for Hikers.  By signing this waiver, I am giving up forever, my right and that of any family member and/or representative to sue the Palm Creek Hiking Club or any member of this club in any court for any injury, death, and/or loss of property however caused. I release liability with the understanding that all members of Palm Creek Hiking Club are volunteers and have no formal training, including first aid.

I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a promise not to sue, that this is a release of liability and that I sign it of my own free will.
