Trip report by John Robichaud. The Palm Creek Hiking Club had its first hike of 2021 on Friday, January 8th. It was a cool clear morning drive to Tucson’s Saguaro National Park. Jerry led us to the trailhead next to the Sonoran desert museum. We then walked the base of Brown Mountain, ascending to the ridge for lunch with beautiful views of the canyons.

It is with great sadness that I tell you that Skip Emerson, leader of our hiking club for 18 years passed away on June 28, 2020. He put his heart and soul into the hiking club and as members, we reaped the many benefits of his dedication. See Skip's Obituary on the following link.
The club presented Skip and Connie with a plaque just before we had to leave the park last spring. The inscription was as follows:
